Russia Sends 27 Tonnes of Humanitarian Aid to Gaza Amid Israel-Hamas Conflict

Russia has taken a significant humanitarian step amidst the escalating Israel-Hamas conflict by sending 27 tonnes of aid to assist the civilians in the Gaza Strip. The aid, which includes essential provisions like wheat, sugar, rice, and pasta, was dispatched from the Ramenskoye airport near Moscow to El-Arish in Egypt. This collaborative effort involves handing over the Russian humanitarian aid to the Egyptian Red Crescent, who will facilitate its delivery to the Gaza Strip.

This gesture of humanitarian support comes at a crucial time when the Gaza Strip is grappling with the aftermath of relentless Israeli air strikes, forcing over one million people to flee their homes. The provision of such aid is aimed at mitigating the suffering and ensuring that basic necessities are available to those in need.

Furthermore, on the diplomatic front, US President Joe Biden has been actively engaged in efforts to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. Following face-to-face discussions in Israel and intense diplomatic phone calls with Egypt, President Biden announced a breakthrough. A limited number of trucks will soon be permitted to cross from Egypt into Gaza through the Rafah crossing, starting on Friday.

This development marks a collaborative and international effort to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, emphasizing the urgency of providing assistance to those affected by the conflict.
